Cadillac is the premiere brand of luxury automobile under the General Motors Corporation. Produced and mostly sold in the United States and Canada, the early history of the company was full of success and Cadillac became a household name around the world. However, lack of progressive styling and mechanical design lead to shrinking sales until Cadillac stepped up to compete with foreign car makers in the late 90s. Currently, Cadillac is finding success with their more modern image and technology in the Escalade and XLR models.
The DTS front-wheel-drive Caddy gets more standard equipment, including chrome wheels, and simplified option packages. STS Cars with the optional V8 engine get a new 6-speed automatic transmission. Two new models join the XLR lineup: ultra-luxury Platinum and special-edition Passion Red, in addition to a new 6-speed automatic.
The Cadillac warranty now covers all their 2007 vehicle's powertrain (engine, transmission, and parts that deliver power to the wheels), roadside assistance, and courtesy transportation during warranty repairs for 5 years or 100,000 miles (160,000 km).
